Sweet Grieving

How sweet the grief,
which courses through my soul,
the agony that announces
the ecstasy of my love for you.

It seems so far away, and yet like yesterday,
when last I glimpsed your face.
The curve of your lips, the arch of your brow,
these memories surround me now.

The melody of your voice,
the touch of your fingers upon my weary world
wrought their changes,
for better or worse, both good and ill.

Yet even as the anger consumes me,
and the pain saps color from my view,
the love you brought from out my heart
sustains me and my weary world renews.
