Faith is never blind

I walked into a church today 
and asked the preacher man, "How do you pray?"
He said, "With every breath I take,
with every move I make,
I pray with every day I live 
to do no wrong.

"Faith is never blind, my child.
Sometimes it just doesn’t need to see.
Even if you cannot find the reasons,
faith is trust enough in another
that the things that you don’t know
don’t matter."

I shook my head, I didn’t comprehend
how anyone could feel that way.
But as I turned to walk back out,
a flash of gold caught my eye.
My mother’s wedding band hangs around my neck,
reminding me.
